It’s still a fruit: The nutritionist explained in detail why orange juice is harmful

Hello Guys Welcome to this my blog today I am going to write a some The nutritionist explained in detail why orange juice is harmful People love juices, especially orange juice. He’s the most popular. Many are sure that this is the quintessence of all the health benefits contained in fruits. Nutritionists have thought so for a long time. But it turned out that everything was different.

Another myth associated with juices is typical for more advanced users or even fans of a healthy lifestyle. According to him, only freshly squeezed juices are healthy, but reconstituted juices sold in boxes are harmful.

Dietary paradoxes

Why is that? People can’t wrap their heads around the fact that a fruit can be healthy, but its juice can be harmful. After all, there is nothing in the juice that is not in the fruit. But ordinary logic does not work here. Why? Well-known nutritionist, Doctor of Medical Sciences Mikhail Ginzburg  explains to Healthcust.com readers.

— At first glance, oranges and their juices seem equally healthy. And really, what difference does it make: eat an orange for breakfast or drink a glass of juice? But as it became known relatively recently, only an orange is healthy, and its juice is harmful. Especially for people over 40 year’s old, when chronic diseases, hypertension, excess weight, and metabolic syndrome begin to appear. Their juice accelerates the aging process.

The thing is that juices contain a lot of dissolved sugars, including especially harmful fructose, and little fiber. And this plays a major negative role. When we eat oranges, we turn them into a kind of pulp that contains a lot of fiber. It lingers in the stomach, enters the small intestine more slowly, and on top of that, the absorption of sugars is also inhibited by fiber.

This does not happen with juice; it quickly leaves the stomach, and the sugars dissolved in the liquid are quickly absorbed, greatly increasing their level in the blood. And we know: the faster sugar enters the blood, the more harmful it is to the body.

The problem is further complicated by the fact that manufacturers, in order for us, consumers, to like juices more, clarify them, removing even traces of fiber, and make them even sweeter. Sugar is often even added, turning the juice into nectar or a juice drink. They are even more harmful.”

Fruits are always healthier than fruit juices

“Even freshly squeezed juice is not healthy,” says Mikhail Ginzburg. If there is some pulp left in it, it will be slightly better than reconstituted and clarified juice. But the orange itself will not replace it. There are still a lot of dissolved sugars in it. On the other hand, juices can be made somewhat healthier by making smoothies out of them, adding purees from other fruits, fermented milk products and grains, seeds, and cereals rich in fiber and other fibers. By acquiring a denser consistency, smoothies release sugar less easily, and it is absorbed more slowly.

For those who cannot give up juices in favor of fruits, I advise you to drink them not between meals and not to quench your thirst, but during meals. Better, for example, with a bran bun.

Do not forget that due to the large amount of acid, juice is harmful to tooth enamel. It helps the formation of caries. For the same reason, it is better not to drink it in case of any heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux (reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus), or peptic ulcer.

And you need to understand that everything said above applies not only to orange juice, but to all fruit juices. They all contain large amounts of dissolved sugars.”It’s still a fruit: The nutritionist explained in detail why orange juice is harmful
