Ayurveda and the secret of fulfilling love relationships

Ayurveda and the secret of fulfilling love relationships

The choice of partner and love life are significantly influenced by the individual constitution. Ayurveda tells us how we can love according to type and (re)kindle the romantic fire.

Love is a beautiful feeling! Our heart is filled with inner warmth and overwhelming tenderness, our body vibrates with vitality with desire and joy of life, and the whole of life shines with a golden glow. We feel valuable, safe and loved, and nothing and no one can shake our inner strength and confidence.

But as we all know: This divine rush, which permeates body, mind and soul alike, does not last. After the first rush of love, many people quickly return to their daily routine and become entangled in an exhausting balancing act of demands, wishes and obligations in the romantic relationship, at work, with the children and in everyday management, which leaves us tired, irritable and sad.

However, if we know the secret of true love, it is not that difficult to create a romantic love relationship with success in work and parenthood and with always new fun during sex. How it works? This is what Ayurveda tells us!

Love is typical

In order to find the right partner for life, from an Ayurvedic perspective, hair color, cup size or bank account are not among the selection criteria. It is much more important to be clear about the individual constitution of the chosen one in order to assess whether the genetic code of both romantic partners could harmonize with one another. Because according to our own dosha type, we all have our physical and emotional personality traits that determine our likes and dislikes. According to the basic constitution ( Prakrti ), we have been endowed with distinctive qualities and life patterns that cannot be changed, no matter how much this may be desired or striven for within the context of a partnership.

Find your soulmate

We find the decisive factor for a happy and long-lasting relationship through harmonious harmony on a psychological level. According to our mental constitution ( Manas-Prakrti ), we feel attracted to people who, inside, tick the same way as we do. This is exciting, because on the physical level we often prefer constitution types that are characterized by completely different qualities and dosha properties than ourselves.

But the following applies to romantic love: Like and like attract – starting from the emotional body ( Manomaya-Kosha ), which arises from a shared attitude to life through the harmony of the qualities of our mental powers – a harmony of Tamas , Rajas and Sattva  – dines. If we are now very lucky enough to meet our soul mate, we can be sure that we have found a life partner with whom we can share a deep agreement in the values of life that are really important to us. We are often connected by similar experiences and experiences, and sometimes also by unfulfilled wishes from the past. Bringing these shared values to awareness, working through negative experiences together and strengthening and renewing the positive is the secret that allows us to fall in love with each other again and again.

Lust and passion are (also) a metabolic product

Some modern researchers describe love primarily as a biochemical interaction of dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin. And even if this sounds quite unromantic – even traditional Ayurvedic medicine knows about the importance of healthy hormone and tissue metabolism so that the fire of love burns brightly. Only if the (bio)chemistry of both partners is right, this is possible

Lust and passion unfold. From an Ayurvedic perspective, in order for the juices to flow, you need a strong nervous system ( majan ) and good reproductive tissues ( shukra ). Gentle oil massages, food rich in vital substances, aphrodisiac spices and meditative relaxation rituals have a strengthening effect on the power of love. Stress, on the other hand, is the biggest pleasure killer.

In order to find the right partner for life, from an Ayurvedic perspective, hair color, cup size or bank account are not among the selection criteria. It is much more important to be clear about the individual constitution of the chosen one…

Food for love

The ancient Ayurvedic texts know many foods, spices and herbs that are characterized by a stimulating effect on desire, endurance and performance during sex as well as a substantial improvement in the quality of the reproductive tissue. If you want to enjoy an active love life, you should eat lots of sweet fruits, nuts and high-quality proteins:

Mango, dates, raisins, pomegranate and pineapple promote tender feelings and excitability.

Chili, nutmeg, cooked garlic, cooked onions and black pepper make us hot and sexy.

Mung beans, urad dal, asparagus, avocado, sesame oil, banana, cashews, almonds, milk, ghi and saffron increase sexual power and stamina.

If we integrate these foods in sufficient quantities into our everyday diet, we nourish the nervous and reproductive tissues in a healthy and natural way.

And yet what we eat is not the most important factor when we want to seduce with food. What is much more important is the inner attitude with which the love menu is prepared and the atmosphere in which we serve it. The Ayurvedic nutritional rules describe in great detail the effect of thoughts and feelings while cooking and eating on the body and mind. Ayurveda describes love and mindfulness during food preparation as Upayokta . Before we even go into the kitchen, we should clean ourselves inside and out: we shower, make ourselves beautiful, think fervently about our loved one and then devotedly prepare a delicious, fresh meal with natural and aphrodisiac foods and spices.

Before we start cooking, we make sure that the kitchen is clean and tidy, because only in a clean place can pure and vital food be prepared. Our heart speaks through the hands that caress the vegetables as they peel and cut, and with tender desire we season the dishes with fine spices.

Vata

is the airy movement type: a delicate physique, delicate facial features and an open way of meeting new people and things invite you to get to know Vata people quickly, to exchange ideas in a lively manner, to find attractive similarities and to fall in love. It never gets boring with Vata types – there are always many questions about existence to discuss,   to enjoy the beautiful things in life such as music, art or dance and to discuss current events. On a sexual level, Vata is also easy to stimulate, playful and extremely inventive.

However, as soon as the relationship needs to become more binding, some Vata types find it difficult. The unstable and creative lifestyle also brings unrest and doubts into relationships, which can make it difficult to live together and plan the future together.

Pitta

is the fiery implementation type: With an athletic physique, striking facial features and charismatic appearance, Pitta people fascinate at first glance. And even when you get to know them more intensively, they impress and seduce with their intelligence, willpower, humor and drive for success.

But these characteristics can also be a burden in a love relationship in the long run: If the Pitta type always gives priority to his work and wants everything to go according to his own ideas, the initial admiration can quickly turn into a feeling of being patronized or neglected. Now it’s time to speak plainly, because anyone who wants to live with Pitta people must also have the strength for a (fair) discussion.

Kapha

is the earthy, stability type: With a strong physique, soft features, robust health and a calm disposition, Kapha people are like a rock in the surf, defying today’s hectic world. They take great joy in taking care of the needs of those around them and radiate an almost unshakable calm and contentment. So if you are looking for a loving partnership that is characterized by loyalty, stability and cozy evenings at home with good food, you will find the optimal partner in the Kapha type.
