In August, wasps are looking for fruit cakes, juice and limo. In the previous months, they needed and collected protein to raise their larvae.
In late summer, the animals are now flying out to collect food for themselves and to defend their nests, explains the State League for Bird Protection in Bavaria (LBV).
The people die in late summer and autumn, only the newly hatched queens will survive and winter.

Catch traps or some food designed away for distraction even have the opposite effect: instead of luring away the animals, more wasps are attracted.
Instead, for example, a simulated rain shower helps: spraying water with a atomizer. Then the animals withdraw into their nest.

And when the wasps are there, it sounds as hard as it sounds: stay calm, not hectic or even panicked after them. Because when searching for food, wasps do not react aggressively per se, but only when they feel threatened, they defend themselves. Therefore, wasps should not be blown away under any circumstances, since the carbon dioxide in the breathing air acts on them as an alarm signal. It puts them in attack. And you simply should not offer them anything enticable – so cover juice glasses and food and immediately clean it back into the house after dinner. And wipe the mouth of children after drinking and eating.
If you go to a barbecue party, you should do without perfumes and creams – its scent also attracts wasps, just like floral patterns on the clothes.
